MC Wrenn + The White Chocolates

Ok, coolest shoot I've done so far.  I love taking pictures of adorable little ones, but taking pictures of a band is FUN.  These guys were hilarious.  They're an old school hip hop tribute band that does anything from House of Pain to Tone Loc to Bobby Brown to Run DMC.  They interacted so well, making each other laugh and just goofing off and being themselves which made it sooo easy to take the pictures.  One of the members had a '73 Chevy Impala that we used in a few of the shots and those ones turned out to be my favorites.

MC Wren + The White Chocolates will be playing July 15th at House of Bricks.  I'm lucky enough to get to be on stage to take some performance and crowd shots.  I can't wait!!  Mark your calendars and come down to support these guys!  They're amazing!!

The pics below are some that I took of Katie in her pool in our backyard and of our day at the Farmer's Market Saturday with Nicole, Jill, and little Ben.  The weather was perfect for it.  Then we went back to Nicole's and let the girls play in Jill's pool for a bit.

Weekend fun

This past weekend, Toby, Katie, and I went down to Kansas City to attend the residency graduation of Toby's sister, Molly.  We got to eat at Oklahoma Joe's which was named by Anthony Bourdain as one of the top 15 places to eat in the US.  It was delicious . . . not sure if it was worth a 2 hour wait though with a 3-year old.

Saturday night, we attended her graduation dinner and ceremony where she was honored as "Best in Patient Care" and I think it was "Best Resident in the Program" which was voted on by her peers and senior doctors.  Molly, if I got that last one wrong, please correct me.  :)  It was really amazing to see how well respected she is in the community.  Her personality makes it easy to see why she is so loved and respected by her peers and patients.  Congratulations again, Molly.

We came home on Sunday and I headed over to my dad's with Katie.  He left for Anchorage this morning and will be flying from Alaska to Hawaii in a week and won't be back until the end of June.  We walked down to the local park and threw rocks in the creek in his backyard and watched the horses across the street.  We found a snake skin which Katie thought was pretty neat.  She even painted my toenails for me.  I can tell she'll be the future Picasso.

Lots of updates . . .

I think this might be the longest I've gone between posts!!  Lots has gone on over the past few weeks.

I was very fortunate to be asked by my friend, Amy Jo, to take pictures for her daughter's preschool graduation at Sacred Heart May 26th.  Cece was so cute . . . the students had all made these little graduation hats and they had songs that they sang for the audience . . . it was adorable.

That Friday (the 27th), I took my friend's daughter, Jill, for a good part of the day and Katie, her and I went to the zoo.  The girls have so much fun together and they were so good the whole day.

Then on the 29th, I went to Nicole's and took her son, Ben's, 9 month pictures.  I can't believe he's already 9 months . . . time goes by too fast!!

This past weekend, we went swimming at my friend, Shea's house and I took Katie to her first movie, Kung Fu Panda 2.  She wasn't really into it . . . the movie was geared more towards older kids I think.  Yesterday, I took Katie down to Osceola and we rode 4-wheelers for a few hours.  She had so much fun.  She kept wanting to drive and control the gas . . .

I've been working on a new website for my photography and it's finally done.  But I might be changing hosts soon . . . not sure I like the setup I have right now but I've spent so many hours working on it that I'm not sure I want to take the time to change it.  We'll see . . . But for now, check it out and let me know what you think!!
